Robin Erik Haak

Robin E. Haak is a German political scientist, tech entrepreneur, and investor from Hanover.

Born in Hanover in 1986, he completed his Abitur there before studying political science with a focus on history, as well as law and economics, at the University of Salzburg (B.A.). He went on to earn an MBA in Media Management from the Hamburg Media School and the University of Hamburg.

Haak began his career at Versace in New York. He later joined Axel Springer SE in Berlin, where he worked for Axel Springer Digital Ventures and co-founded the Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator. Through this program, he became an early investor in the fintech company N26. After leaving Axel Springer, he co-founded and served as Managing Director of Jobspotting GmbH. The company later merged with SmartRecruiters Inc., where Haak took on the role of Managing Partner and Global Chief Operating Officer (COO). Under his leadership, SmartRecruiters grew into a unicorn and is currently in the process of being acquired by the software group SAP.

He also co-founded and served as Chief Marketing Officer of Wo\men Inc. UG and has been a shareholder and advisory board member in several other companies. As a founder and senior executive at Jobspotting and SmartRecruiters, Haak was involved in raising more than USD 200 million and led over 250 employees across the United States and Europe. He has built teams, developed brand identities, designed marketing campaigns, and executed high-level strategies, with a focus on M&A, fundraising, and scaling software companies.

Haak has invested in and helped build more than 90 companies at the early, growth, and late stages, including N26, Runtastic, Frontify, Aircall, Getaccept, Kombo, and ARX Robotics. From January 2021 to the end of 2023, he served on the advisory board of Stepstone, one of the world’s leading recruiting platforms.

He was also a co-founder of the growth equity fund Revaia (Germany/France), which focuses on ESG and a crossover investment strategy (both private and public companies). Revaia’s first fund raised €250 million, surpassing its initial €200 million target. Today, Revaia manages around €600 million in assets under management (as of July 2025) and has invested in companies such as AirCall, Epsor, GetAccept, gohenry, Planity, Welcome to the Jungle, and Yubo.

In 2023, Haak launched his own venture capital fund, Robin Capital, as a solo GP, with currently €15 million in committed capital. The fund primarily invests in early-stage European B2B SaaS companies.
